This week has sucked so far. It started on Sunday night, Oscar night. Joey woke up around 11 or so with a sore tummy. He has this quite often, usually right around dinner time if we're having veggies, or in the evening if he has homework to do, so I wasn't too worried about it. He kept on whining about it, and couldn't get back to sleep. So, being the wonderful parents that we are, we made room in our bed for Joey. Chris was already in there cause he was crying, so it was a pretty tight fit. Not long after coming into our room, Joey puked in the bed. Yep, puked all over our bed. Poor kid felt bad about it, but I told him not to worry. By this time, it was about 1am, and we were all awake. After throwing up, Joey said he felt better.... but the worst was yet to come. He puked I don't know how many times through the night, as well as all day on Monday and in the morning on Tuesday. He drank gatorade and ate popsicles so now he's feeling better, and its Christopher's turn to be sick. I tell ya, I've never washed so much pukey laundry or mopped up as much puke ever in my life. This has not been a good week.

I shouldn't say that it has been bad because something great happened on Monday. Christopher took 4 steps, he walked to me! I was so excited, and all I could think was how lucky I was to be home with the boys instead of them being at a sitter. I would have been so upset if his first steps had been for the sitter instead of me. Will he do it again??? I really hope so cause he's a heavy little boy! He's getting really good at standing on his own and letting go of things or picking up toys in both hands and turning from the table to the couch. Its only a matter of days till he's toddling around everywhere! I can't wait - its so cute!

Tonight I could be a millionaire. You never know, stranger things have happened! We have one of the millionaire for life tickets and I'm really hoping that our numbers come up. I know, chances of that happening are slim to none, but I can always hope, dream and wish. Those 3 little things have gotten me lots of stuff before :)

And that's it for today. I've got more laundry to wash and a whiny baby, so I'm gonna have a wonderful day! I hope you do too!

P.S. Speaking of Oscar, you gotta see The Departed - its an incredible movie and very well deserving of the best picture award!

I'm so glad that it's the weekend. This week has felt really long, and I hate that we only have 2 days for the weekend! Whoever invented the 5 day workweek is an idiot. It should only be 3 or 4 days work and the rest is weekend & family time. Life would be so much better for everyone!

Joey went to taekwondo this morning for the very first time to see how he liked it. Turns out that he really likes it and wants to go back! So now we're gonna be getting up early on Saturdays and missing the cartoons and heading out to his class. He's happy about it, and picked up on the moves quickly. As long as he doesn't try them out on the kids at school....!

He went out with his Grandpa Jim this afternoon and came home with a magic set. I remember having one when I was little, and Jason had one too. We both remember trying to do magic tricks, and now we're going to have a blast watching Joey learn how to do stuff! Its so cute when he has his little magic wand and he tries to "abracadabra" stuff away, or turn me into a frog or toddler! Yep, that's what he tried to do tonight before bedtime - but he turned me back into mommy when he realized that frogs and toddlers can't get into the fridge to get bedtime snacks :) Here he is trying to make something appear....

We went out for dinner last night with Kim & Curtis. We ended up at Arbys (or Andys as Joey calls it!) and had a great time. Chris ate some of my roast beef sandwich and loved it. While we were there, Kim pointed something out that we had never noticed before. Chris was drinking from his bottle with his pinky in the air! Now every time he eats or drinks, I watch to see what he does, and he does it every time! Here's a picture of him!

I thought it was cute! And that look on his face is priceless - its as if he is saying "get that thing outta my face so I can eat this cookie!". Wouldn't surprise me if he did say it, this kid has attitude :)

Not much else happening today, and that's just what I wanted! Its nice to just relax and not do anything. Now I'm going to go make hot chocolate with Bailey's and watch a sappy chick flick :) Good night!

We woke up this morning to the most perfectly beautiful snowfall! A lot of snow fell in only a couple of hours, and it was so pretty to see! This picture was taken around 7 this morning before any cars or people were able to mess up the peacefulness! I had to post this just for my Uncle Brian - here's the snow that I promised to get a picture of for you :)

When I left the house this morning, I just stood on the front porch for a minute and debated with myself whether or not I should even go to work. The snow was perfect snowball/snowman snow, and I really wanted to stay home with Joey & Chris and just enjoy it. It was a tough decision, but I ended up at work. I was kicking myself all day - this is probably it for snow this season, so next winter I will definetly play hooky for a day just to play with my kids ;)

Here's todays random thoughts:
  1. Drew Barrymore is 32 today!
  2. Dolly the cloned sheep made her debut in 1997, after Scottish scientists decided to share their achievement with the world. She was already 7 months old... wonder what else they cloned in that time and that they didn't tell anyone about?
  3. Robert Baden-Powell was born this day in 1857... yep, I learned this today from Kelly at work! (See, I do listen!) Something to do with girl guides, but I was never a girl guide so I had no clue who she was talking about!
  4. Popcorn was introduced to English colonists in 1630. It was at a Thanksgiving dinner (in February?!), and if I were those colonists, I'd feel ripped off. Thanksgiving means turkey, not popcorn!!! Wonder what would happen if you stuffed a turkey with popcorn... hahaha - now you all have a mental image of popcorn exploding out of a turkeys butt!!!

Ok, I've rambled long enough and I've even talked about sheep and turkey. Can you tell that its been a long day, and an even longer week? But on the bright side - tomorrow is Friday! Yipee!!!

P.S. Yep, that's still Christmas lights wrapped around my front porch :)

So here it is... my 100th post. I can't believe that I've actually kept on going with this blog! Even though I think I have nothing to say, somehow I always end up with something! Thank you to everyone who checks my little corner of the web and keeps on coming back - I hope you like the new look and that you'll keep on visiting :)

You all know the main focus of this blog is - MY BOYS!!! They are the best little things in this world, and I like to brag and show them off. I haven't posted their pictures in a while and for those who are suffering from withdrawal, here's their pictures.

They are still as cute as ever, and make me smile every day. I love the picture of Joey - it is so him! His personality just shines through! And Chris with his little tie... I just want to pick him up and hug & kiss him all day long!
And that's it for tonight folks. Just a short post for my 100th to say thanks for dropping by and visit again!

I'm trying out a new look here, but I'm not sure that I like it. I'll leave it like this for a few days and see if it grows on me. The one thing that I really don't like about it is that the comments line for the current post looks like it belongs to the previous post. Maybe I'm just picky, but I'd like to have my comments relate to what has been written!

Sometimes I think I'm going crazy. Today is one of those days... Tonight I wanted to take some pictures of the kids. Chris was actually standing up beside me today and letting go of me, standing on his own. He plays with a little toy vacuum, and he loves it - I think this is what is making him try to stand up! Anyways... The batteries in the camera were dying, so I went to get the battery charger but couldn't find it anywhere. Its usually always kept in the camera case with the extra batteries but tonight its not there. I swear we have a gremlin or a ghost that does this to me, it happens more often than I care to admit.

I've also been trying to update my ipod and can't get the songs I want. Limewire won't connect for me. Grrrrr. Very frustrating. And when it does connect, it takes forever to download. I hate waiting for things to work, it should just work as soon as its clicked and then be done a second later. If anyone knows of a better site to find stuff, let me know please!

And what about this weather? Its about time that it started to warm up. I'm tired of the pipes freezing up and wearing so many layers of clothes and a huge winter jacket just to be outside for 2 minutes! Joey is excited about spring coming because it means we can get outside to play. He wants to get his bike out already!

Today is Pancake Tuesday... did you have pancakes today? I did - we decided to have pancakes at work this morning, so we all had McDonalds Happy Meals! Very yummy!!!

Want another random thought for today? If Kurt Cobain were alive, he would be 40 years old today. And French Stewart is 43 - If you want to see a funny movie, watch him in Love Stinks! Very funny movie if you have a kind of twisted sense of humour like me ;)

Nothing else to say tonight. Too frustrated with this stupid computer so I'm going to go watch tv - I think House is on :)

What a busy week this has been! And snowy! I was so disappointed that Wednesday wasn't a snow day like they predicted it would be. So much for the 30-50 cm of snow we were looking forward to! Oh well, maybe it will come today or tomorrow :)

Joey really enjoyed his Valentine day at school & daycare. He came home with lots of cards and some candies and treats - and something really cool and different. One of the kids gave him a free pass to a martial arts school! Maybe next weekend we'll go and check it out, see if he likes it. If he does, then we'll sign him up for a class. I don't know if he'll be into it or not, but its worth a shot to see if he does. He needs to get more involved in sports and activities rather than tv and video games. Maybe this will be something that he will enjoy.

And what did I get for Valentines day you ask?!?!? How about nothing... zilch... nada... except a "happy Valentines day honey". Its just not the same as flowers. Oh well, I got him back... I didn't make him dinner! Maybe I'll get flowers soon...

Joey has now finished his strong starts program at school. He really enjoyed it, and I think he's come a long way! He is doing great with his reading and sounding out his words. On Thursday, I went to his school for a little party that they were having for the kids, and they were showing me a few of the games that they played in the program. Joey was so proud of himself, and I was really proud of him too! He got a certificate, book and a colouring book for taking part in the program. He's already decided that he wants to do it again! Way to go Joey!

Thats it for today. No random thoughts cause I haven't had time to find anything interesting to share! Maybe later today I'll have something for you!

Have a great day!

I'm bitter - Prison Break wasn't on tonight.

On to other subjects.... did you know that on this day in 2004 Ken & Barbie broke up??? Yep, thats right, 3 years since that sad & fateful day. They were together for 43 years, having fallen in love after meeting each other when they shot their very first Mattel commercial together. I guess Barbie just had too much going for her, so she decided to dump Ken... he wasn't really up to much anyways. Way to go Barbie on kickin' that freeloader to the curb!

You know its bad when you write about Barbie. But whatever, at least Barbie can't be offended at anything that I write :)

What else is going on? Let me see...
* It was 40 years ago today that Keith Richards home was raided and police found "various substances of a suspicious nature". Wonder what they'd find if they were to raid his home now?
* The New York Times reported on February 12, 2004, that Michael Jackson was facing an "immediate cash crisis" over a $70-million loan that was due on February 17. Apparently he had no money to pay this loan. What did he borrow $70 million for anyways?
* The 100th episode of "Murder, She Wrote" aired on this day in 1989. Anyone know how many more they made after that??? I don't think it was too many though.
* J.C. Penney died at the age of 95 in 1971. His store closed for business for a half day as a memorial to him as the company's founder. Mmmmmm, ever wonder what your boss/company would do if you died? This guy was lucky to even get a half day!

So there is your random stupid facts for the day. Very interesting stuff, and I hope that it has enlightened you and made your life a little more valuable :) Anyways, whatever, I had fun trying to find stuff to write about not related to life around here! Send me some more random crap and maybe I'll write about it here!

Saturday, February 10, 2007

Well, well, well. Its now Saturday and I've just checked the stats for my little blog here. I've gotten quite a few hits this week for some reason, yet I haven't posted anything since Monday. Wonder why my little world is so interesting all of a sudden??? I have no idea, so can someone please let me know!

Its been a crazy week. A cold and crazy week! The boys stayed home with their daddy since he was laid off, and everything is now daddy, daddy, daddy. Even when I come home from work, Chris will come into the hallway, talk to the dog first, then turn to me and say "Hi dad!". He can say mama, but I guess he just likes to call everyone dad. He now says "here go" when he hands something to you, and says "got it" when you give him something! Its so cute (and strange!) to hear this little person talking! Next thing will be walking... I'm looking forward to it, but at the same time I know that things will get even crazier around here!

Joey was at Carson's place last night, and they got to play Smash Brothers! They also got to play American Idol on ps2! That was so fun to watch - the kids as well as the adults were really getting into it, and even Joey sang! He didn't know very many of the songs that were on it, but he has heard me sing Build Me Up Buttercup, so he decided to sing that one. Everyone helped him out, and I was just so proud that he actually did it! Way to go Joey!!! And Chris was even interacting with Abigail... it wasn't all good interacting, but at least he no longer just stares - he knows that she is a person and can do stuff to! He stole her bottle, and crawled all over her, then pushed the truck away when she wanted to play with it. All I have to say is that he better watch it because Abby has 3 older brothers who are watching out for her :)

No big plans for this weekend. Just going for groceries and relaxing. Maybe go see mommy tomorrow since its been a while. (Oh yeah, if you read this mom, is it ok with you if we all come over tomorrow?!) Joey is heading out very soon with his Grandpa Jim to go and have some lunch, so we're going to watch Flags of our Fathers while he's out. Maybe Chris will cooperate and will sleep for bit!

Have a great Saturday!

I just saw a trailer for a new movie that is coming out, something called Norbet. I think it looks pretty funny! Its Eddie Murphy, and I usually find his stuff funny. There's also another movie coming out called 23. It has Jim Carrey in it, and he plays a serious, freaky looking role. I want to see it just to see how he does in that kind of role. I like him, but I don't know if he can pull this off. So ladies, how about one of these movies for our girls night out???

Its pretty cold again today. It was -31 when I left the house this morning! Can we say C-H-I-L-L-Y?!?!?! But come on now people! Can we really complain when we've only had 4 real weeks of winter? And according to Wiarton Willy and Punxatawney Phil we only have 4 more to go?! Just think of it this way - in another few months we'll all be complaining that its way too hot. We're never really happy with the weather. I figure that if we can't do anything about it, then deal with it! Like it the way it is, and if you don't like it then move somewhere else in the world!!!

I really have nothing to say tonight. I'd talk about Prison Break, but Melissa & Kim weren't able to watch it tonight. I can't write about it cause if they read this, I'd give it away. All I'll say is "you people suck"! Hurry up and watch it already, cause it was good tonight!!! And I'm jealous of Doc Sara... watch it and you'll know why :) And while we're talking about tv shows, does anyone out there know when Jericho starts again?

It sucks being back to work. I have no time to do stuff through the day to blog about. I have no time to do fun stuff with the boys so that I can get good pictures. This weekend I have to do something fun with them. Don't know what, but I'll figure something out!

I've been trying to figure out what I can do with this blog so that I have something to write about every day or every other day. I've searched the web for ideas, but nothing seems original to me. For tonight, you get a random quote that I found which made me laugh....
Elvis was the only man from Northeast Mississippi who could shake his hips
and still be loved by rednecks, cops, and hippies.
Jimmy Buffett
Yep, it made me smile. For some strange reason, I like Elvis. I wanted Suspicious Minds to be our wedding song, but everyone told me it was inappropriate for the occasion :) It was that or Highway to Hell... which one is better?!
I know, this conversation with myself is going downhill tonight. I'm tired. I'm grumpy. I'm going to bed. Maybe tomorrow night I'll actually have something interesting and unique to talk about :)

What more can I say today than I'M FREEZING. Its sooooo cold. Right now its -29 with the windchill. Just a tad too chilly for me. Good thing we went toboganning last weekend and not today. And for all of those people who were so concerned about me... thank you and my butt is still sore. Maybe I'll have to go and have the doc check it out. Not fun at all :{

Today is Superbowl Sunday. I don't watch football, I don't understand football, and I won't pretend to like football. That being said, I will not have it on my tv today! Jason is going over to Matt's place and the guys can enjoy it there. He's looking forward to it, and I've got some nummies in the slowcooker right now for him to take over. I hope everyone likes it - everyone seems to think I'm this horrible cook, so maybe this will win them over :)

Lots to do today... I want to get laundry done, vaccuum all the cheerios still on the floor, and somewhat clean up Joeys room. I don't know why I waited until today to do everything, but what can I say. Guess I was having too much fun yesterday! We were playing a game called Blockhead, and its now Joey's favourite game. Its kind of like Jenga, only instead of taking blocks away, you build it up. And the blocks are all different shapes and sizes! Its tricky, but its fun! Joey liked placing the really weird shaped ones to try and make everyone else knock it down! That's my boy!

Ok, gotta go, my fingers are turning into icicles! Guess maybe I should turn up the heat a bit more!

I don't use my blog as a forum to be mean, or to say nasty things about other people. But its been brought to my attention that someone has been saying things about myself and my friends. Who knows who else this person has been talking about??? Anyways, I just have to say get over it and get a life. Its been months. Crap happens, but most people wipe it off and learn to live again. Why can't you?

So that's it. Not sure how long I'll keep this post on here. Maybe I'll delete it later, maybe I'll leave it for a while. But I know that I, unlike you, won't be blocking certain people so they can't see it - if I have something to say, I'll say/write it no matter who is going to read it. My blog is open to whoever wants to take the time to read it, whether I say good or bad stuff. If you don't like what I have to say, too bad. Its not going to stop me from saying it.

That's it. Have a great Saturday :)

Another work week is done... and what a week it has been. Today topped it all off - it seemed like every file that I touched went wrong. Oh well, I figured out most of the crap, there's only 2 files pending for Monday morning. Great way to start a week, huh?!

Yesterday was Jason's last day at Carelift. He was supposed to be starting back at Walkers after about 3 years of being laid off from there. How crazy is that - to be gone for years then get called back?! Anyways, after handing in his notice and waiting to find out what shift he would be on when he started back, he gets a call to let him know that he's already laid off! Not what I wanted to hear, especially with how today was. So now he is laid off next week but will definetly be working the following week. He better be, or else I'll just have to go and find a rich millionaire to keep us :)

The boys are being silly right now. All I hear is giggling and laughter. Its so nice to have 2 boys who love each other so much! I'm glad that they get along, cause I really don't feel like being a mean mommy and yelling at them tonight! They'll be going to bed soon, so they better enjoy the fun while they can.

So I'm gonna go and join in the fun for a bit before getting them into their jammies and getting their snacks ready. Hope everyone has a great night, and I really hope that this weekend is good :)

Slideshow!

Enjoy the pictures everyone :)
