Can you see what's different here.......?!

Chris finally got his hair cut! I took him yesterday to get it done and what an ordeal it was, once again. It took 2 of them to do his hair - one to cut his hair and one to feed him Smarties and keep him somewhat settled down. He still screamed & cried. I have no idea why he hates it so much, but I'm going to take him to this one from now on - they didn't complain about his behaviour at all :)

Hope you like the picture... now I can see just how much they really look alike. And this hair cut makes Chris look older. That's my boys :)

Happy May 2-4 everyone! Finally, the first long weekend of the summer... and the weather sucks. But we made the most of it yesterday and the kids went to the annual fishing derby in Varney. They all look forward to it every year - rain or shine :) This year it was definetly rainy, but they all enjoyed themselves and caught their 3 allotted fish each. Next year, one of them will catch the albino :) Joey even won a baseball mitt for one of his fish. Here's some pictures of the whole adventure....

It was also my birthday this weekend. 32.... I'm getting old :) But it was a great day. We spent the evening with our good friends Steve & Donna (who are getting married in 3 weeks - so excited!!!) and went to Kings Buffet for dinner. That place is AWESOME!!! I had pepper beef, bbq pork, roast chicken, lemon chicken, chicken fried rice, fries & gravy, garlic herbed potatoes, jello, 3 different kinds of ice cream and raspberry macaroons bars. I didn't have room for the chocolate square that I wanted to try, or the pies that looked so yummy :) Oh well, there's always next time! After that, it was Rock Band/Guitar Hero time. I LOVE IT!!!! We had some wine and birthday cake (caramel crunch, yum!) and had an awesome night. All in all, a birthday to remember.

So that's our weekend so far. Now I'm off to re-arrange my china cabinet and fit in my new Royal Doulton - the May gemstone pretty lady. Bye!!!

Today was Joey's second movie shoot for Steve, and this time both Jason & I got to be in it too (So there's no pictures of our Joey's actual shot.... we were both "working"!) I have to admit, its pretty awesome, but a real eyeopener - its amazing how much work actually goes into getting even one shot. I wish you guys the very best of luck with the rest of the shoot!!! And if you ever need another little actor, Joey would love to do it again :)

I just really like this shot!

The securigay, I mean, um, security guards!
So it was a lot of fun. I can't wait until the movie is done and we can see the finished project. I'll be sure to show everyone!!!

Here's some pictures from the movie shoot yesterday! Joey plays the child version of the main actor Orion. He's only in it for a few seconds, but he had a lot of fun! There's more filming going on tomorrow, so I'll have even more pictures to share!!!

The two Orions!

Joey & "mom"! She is supposed to be an evil and domineering woman - she looked like it in the pictures, but in reality she was a sweetheart! She played Go Fish with Joey for hours, and was wonderful with him! Thanks Deborah!!!!

Steve the director telling Joey where he is supposed to be looking on the table while the guys set up the shot. They were all so great with him!

Joey still in character while they're still setting up!

Almost time to shoot!!!

The director watching the filming

Joey watching the playback!

So there you go! It was a very long day, but so worth it. Joey is a rising star, and wasn't even a diva about it :) Way to go Joey - we're so very proud of you!!!

Our health system is really getting stupid. Has anyone else noticed that? What happened to the days when, if you were sick, you could get in to see your doctor that same day? Now if you're sick, you have to call and wait 2-3 weeks for an appointment and just hope that you're still sick to explain everything to your doctor so that she doesn't think you're some hypochondriac or something. Here's what happened.

On Sunday, Chris wasn't feeling so good. He would cry and whine (like any 2 year old!) but he would also grab his head and his tummy and say "ow, ow" and he was really burning up. Anyways, he was really restless through the night, and then screamed and slept on and off all day on Monday. When I came home from work, he was still fevered and you could tell he was really sick. I decided that he needed to see a doctor, so I called the after hours # that we're supposed to call. Our doctor has a policy that if you need help after hours, you call this number. If you go to a walk-in clinic, she will drop you as a patient. This number turns out to be Telehealth Ontario... and you wait forever to talk to someone. When I finally got someone on the phone (a real nurse, apparently) I had to then register and explain everything to her. I told her that all I needed to know was where the after hours clinic was for Cambridge on Monday night. You know what this nurse told me?!?!? That based on what I told her about Christopher, she was calling an ambulance right away for him. I told her no. I know Chris, and I know that he wasn't sick enough for that. Believe me, if he was that ill, I would have had him at the hospital in a heartbeat instead of wasting my time calling her. So the nurse wouldn't tell me where the clinic was. I had no choice but to take Chris to the hospital and sit and wait for hours there. I made sure that the doctors there knew that I wasn't impressed. Maybe this is the reason that the er's are overflowing with people - non-emergency issues shouldn't be seen at the hospital. If she had told me where the clinic was, everything would have been over & done with within an hour and I wouldn't have been so mad. As it was, we sat in emerg for a few hours just to have a doctor tell us that Chris had an ear infection and needed antibiotics. No, really? Wow. And a clinic couldn't tell me that? Does this mean that next time Chris has a runny nose or slight fever that I should go running to the er? I'd hate to be seriously hurt and need emergency care and couldn't get it because all the doctors were too busy wiping kids noses and checking temperatures.

There I go ranting again. And to top it all off, the doctor asked Chris if he wanted a popsicle and he said yes - then he didn't get it. Oh well, he spit his medicine all over the nurse, so that kinda made me feel better. But I'm really not impressed with our doctor and this stupid afterhours thing. Maybe its time to get a new doctor.

Funny thing is that I'm happy right now! American Idol was on tonight.... JASON'S GONE!!!! Now I just need David Cook to win. Yay!

More good news! I have a new front door!!!! Ok, so I have it, but its just not installed yet. Its beautiful! I can't wait to see it when its done - its going to be so much brighter in the front hallway. I'll take before & after pics to share.... going to be done soon!

There we go, I'm done for tonight. Goodnight!

Well, Joey lost his 2nd tooth! Now he is missing both bottom front teeth, and he looks so cute! And once again, he had to write a note for the tooth fairy - this time to ask for an autograph. The tooth fairy obliged, and even left $2. I thought Joey might wonder why it was only $2 when his other tooth was $5, but he didn't even ask. He was just so excited to have the autograph!

Today sucked. Work was crazy - not just busy, but people were so moronic today. Yes, I pay out the agents commissions, but how do they seriously expect me to pay them when I haven't received the money to pay them?!?! Are they nuts - must be. Seems like every 5 minutes my phone was ringing, right from 9am this morning till I left at 4:30. I've already got calls scheduled for first thing Monday morning. Crazy. Wanna know the best part of the day??? An agent freaked on me for actually doing my job. How's that for stupid? I do my job and for some reason thats wrong???????? Duh.

That's my rant for today. I could go on and on about it, but why bother?

Here's a funny for you: Do you watch Grey's Anatomy? Good show, I love it. Last night Jason actually watched part of it with me. Anyways, there's a guy on the show with a brain tumor and it makes him act inappropriately in some situations. (eg: they told him his brother died - he laughs. They tell him he's gonna die, he wants to hook his brand new wife up with a rich doctor.) Anyways.... to make a long story short, he's talking normal to his wife, then he starts yelling at her. She doesn't say a word, doesn't yell back. So Jason asks me why can't we be like them - he can yell at me and I won't yell back. I told him that the tv couple had only been married for 10 days and that we've been married for 10 years... they still have hope :) Hehehehe, even Jason smiled at that one!

It's getting late, I just finished reading an awesome book, and I'm going to bed. The weekend is here and I want to enjoy it :) I hope you do to.

P.S. Yay, Brooke was kicked off idol!!!! Next week: Jason goes :)

Slideshow!

Enjoy the pictures everyone :)
