Yay, its Saturday :) Weather kinda sucked today, but still - we got the grass cut, some flowers planted, groceries bought, played outside. And now the kids are worn out and in bed.... its nice and quiet right now :)

So Chris has a cold... and pink eye. He hates the eyedrops, absolutely hates them. He screams and cries when he has to get them, but its gotta be done. I even let him put eye drops in my eyes to see if it would help, but it didn't make him any happier about getting them! That whole reverse psychology thing, um, no, doesn't work. Here's a picture of him with his little eye all swollen and still looking cute!

Not much else to say tonight. Gonna have a glass of wine and watch a sappy movie...... good night!

The ending that we had all hoped for didn't happen. Little Tori Stafford won't be brought home to her parents - 2 people have been arrested and charged with her abduction and murder. It disgusts me to think that anyone could hurt a child, and then watch the pain and suffering that the family goes through. I hope that these people are left alone in a room with Tori's mom and dad, just for 5 minutes.... I'm sure that they won't even feel a fraction of the pain that her parents will feel every day for the rest of their lives, but I know if I were a parent, I'd want those 5 minutes.

Tori's story has been talked about and discussed in Joey's school. He's been asking questions, and its so difficult to talk to him about it. We've told him that it doesn't matter who is at school to pick you up - if its not mom or dad, or someone else that we arranged to have pick you up that day, you don't go with them. Even if its someone you know - you don't go unless we say its ok. All he has to do is go to the office and ask to call us and he can go. If whoever is there says not to call mom.... yell, scream, kick, run. Its sad that we have to talk about this with Joey, he's only 7, but I'm not taking any chances. You never know what tomorrow holds.

So to Tori's mom and dad, brother, and family - my heart goes out to you on the loss of your beautiful little girl. I hope that in time your hearts will heal and that you will remember Tori and smile again. RIP Tori.

Long weekend!!!! Yipee! I'm so excited that I don't have to work tomorrow :) The sun is shining, its quiet here, what more could I ask for?! Oh yeah... and its my birthday! Happy birthday me, 25 again!

So yesterday was the annual fishing derby in Varney. The kids had a blast, and are still having a blast - they won't be home till tomorrow :) Chris is here with me, but he's playing so nicely and quietly.... I didn't think I'd be able to get the pictures on here until tonight, when he was in bed :)

I also got to see Jason's Aunt Margaret & Uncle Tom yesterday. Chris was providing the entertainment.... check out this video of him....

He decided to play the piano, and once again, he was singing Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It Any More"! Seriously, this kid is gonna be a performer one day... he just loves to make people smile :)

I also was introduced to a wonderful bakery in Hanover.... mmmmm. I stocked up on lots of goodies, froze some before we could eat it all! I can't wait to try the lemon macaroons, the toffee chip cookies, the magic bars..... oh, I gotta hurry up and finish this so I can go get something yummy :)

We were only up north for the day and were home around suppertime. Chris slept all the way home :) Then we went out for the evening - we were hanging out with friends and playing cards at Matt & Melissa's, who surprised me with a birthday cake! Its the first time that we've taken Chris out and kept him out soooo late. He was awesome, and was wide awake and loving it! He fell asleep within 10 seconds of leaving their driveway (or so we thought!) and would just pop up & say random things on the way home, like asking to watch a movie before bed! Once we got home he went straight to bed... but woke up twice through the night with bad dreams or something, because I woke up hearing Mommy, mommy! And then, even though he didn't go to bed until after midnight, he was wide awake and ready for the day at 6:45 this morning! Needless to say, I wasn't! I discovered bananatini's this weekend.... yummy!

So that's how the weekend has been for us! Its been fun, and we're still planning on more fun :) I just hope it warms up a little so we can get outside to play!!! I hope everyone else is having a great weekend too!

P.S. Happy birthday to Kevin - he was 25 again yesterday!!!

I'm posting again already! I can't say enough about this camera. I'm out & about with it all the time, and here's more pictures! Jason's getting into taking pictures again, but he has abandoned his old photoblog and is starting over. You can find his blog here now. Lots of pics to come - from both of us :)

Happy mommy's day! I've had a fun day with Chris as Joey went to a sleepover birthday party last night. He's going to see the play High School Musical today with the boys, so I hope they're having a great day :)

I'm still playing around with the camera..... it can even do HDR!!! Look at this!

I've added more pictures to the album that I made. Check them out :)

Anyways, that's it today! Enjoy your day!!!

I've been playing with this new Nikon camera tonight... its on "loan" for 2 weeks till my camera gets fixed. Problem is, I don't want to give it back! After seeing what it can do, I LOVE IT!!! Look at this pic of the boys. As if they weren't handsome enough already, look how gorgeous they look with the Nikon Coolpix :)

And Kevie, you would be proud of me.... I don't even use the easy/auto setting all the time! I've learned how to change the settings to portrait/sport/close-up, and I'm taking pictures of other stuff like flowers - not just the kids! I also took a series of pictures of Joey jumping off of a rock, almost like a movie! Its awesome! Here's some more pics to check out!

Ok, that's it tonight - just wanted to share the picture because its SO AWESOME!!!

What a crazy weekend we've had! Joey made his first communion, and he looked so very handsome, and grown up too! Here's some pictures from his big day!

So I took last Friday off of work so that I could get stuff done around the house for Joey's first communion, and pick up his gift, his pants from the tailor, etc etc. I ended up not getting anything done as Chris was sick and couldn't go to daycare. He was puking and not a very happy little boy, so we spent the day watching Disney movies and cuddling on the couch. Turns out that wasn't a very good idea....

Saturday night - Jason & I end up sick. Puking just like Chris was, and generally feeling miserable. I was terrified that Joey would end up being sick for his big day, but as it was, it was only me who was still sick yesterday. It was tough, but we made it through the day, and we're all very proud of Joey :)

After everyone left yesterday, I went to bed - 6:30 and I was sound asleep :) Good thing too, because I ended up being awake most of the night with Joey.... it was his turn to be sick! At one point through the night when he was throwing up he said "mommy, I think it was the holy eucharist that made me sick, but that's ok because I still think its special"! It was cute, but I had to explain to him that no, it was just a tummy bug or flu that was making him feel so crappy. So I'm home again with a sick boy today. Guess I'll be watching Disney movies again today!

So that was our weekend - as crappy & pukey as it was, it was still wonderful! Thanks to everyone for coming out & supporting Joey, and showing how loved he really is :) And if you end up sick.... I'm sorry! (At least you can't blame my cooking this time!)

Slideshow!

Enjoy the pictures everyone :)
