Today has been quite the day for me. I have spent the last few hours stripping....... my living room walls are now almost bare ;) Hehehehe! I figure that I can't keep putting it off anymore. I've had the stuff to do it for the last 2 years, but I always found an excuse. Well, its finally time and tonight I started my weekend project. My walls are going to be bright yellow instead of grey-blue and painted top to bottom. And I will never use wallpaper again, now that I know what it takes to get rid of it. All I can say is - mom, it amazes me that you enjoy this stuff :) I tried using a steamer to get the crap off and it didn't work. I bought a bottle of stuff that you spray on and wait 5 minutes then scrape it off. Didn't work so well. Then I went online and found that if you mix fabric softener and water then spray it on the wallpaper, that it should take it off. I tried it and it works! And my house smells like laundry and I didn't even have to wash anything to get it to smell all pretty :)
Joey got grounded yesterday. He swore at me, told me that I piss him off all the time. At first, I didn't even realize what he had said, then it hit me and I asked him what he had just said to me. He put his head down and repeated it, and was giggling (ok, so I was trying not to laugh, but that's besides the point!). So he got grounded for the rest of last night and all of today. We had to explain to his friends that he wasn't allowed to play because he used a bad word, and they were pretty understanding about it. I think it was good for Joey to know that his friends knew what happened..... he wasn't upset about being grounded, he was mad that he couldn't go play! Anyways, his grounding is over tomorrow.... then I'll have to see what I can do to piss him off again ;) I love being a mom!!!!!
Ok, its after midnight, I'm tired, I'm sore. I'm going to bed - good night!!!!!!!

Its been kind of hot around here lately. We try to keep the kids cool - freezies, ice cream, fans, but nothing beats a big bucket of water. Check out this video of Chris... so cute :)
Our neighbour had a bucket out front that the boys wanted to play with, so Connie filled it up for them to splash in. Within minutes, Chris was trying to get into it and so was Joey! Joey was too big, but he still got his butt soaked, and Chris.... well, Chris got right in there! The boys seem to think that we don't feed them, and they always get food from Connie. Seems that watermelon and cookies are their favourites, along with a nice cold cup of milk. I've told Connie that I really do feed the kids.... do they look like they're starving!!! Anyways, the problem is that Chris can't say the word cookie. He calls them "crack". So Chris will knock on Connie's door and say "more crack please"! She knows exactly what he means, and the boys end up with cookies and big smiles :) The joke between us now is that Connie is the neighbourhood crack dealer and Chris is my little crackbaby :) Here's Chris with his crack....

Its the first time that Joey has been able to take a picture of himself, and he's very excited about it! Not a bad picture, other than the tongue hanging out :)
I got tickets to go to a preview of the new 3D movie Journey to the Centre of the Earth. I went with my mom & Donna on Thursday night, and its not a bad movie. I had yesterday afternoon off of work and was planning on spending the afternoon with Joey. Our original plan was to go to Doon Heritage Village, but the weather wasn't the best, so we decided to do something indoors. Joey wanted to see the movie, so off we went! The kids in front of us were trying to catch the things that were coming at us, and Joey even jumped at a few parts! Its not a bad movie, and the 3D effects are pretty good :)
Not much more going on here. Its been a crazy busy week at work, and I think the whole summer is going to be like this.
Enjoy your weekend :)

We live within walking distance to Riverside Park where they have a great Canada Day fireworks display. Parking around here on that night is AWFUL! People are parking on the sidewalks, parking on both sides of the street, its really bad. One guy even came up to me as I was sitting on my front porch and asked if he could park on my front lawn. Ummmm, let me think about that one..... NO! Seriously people, come out in the afternoon if you want a "premium" parking spot, don't wait till after 9pm and expect to park close to the park.
Let me tell you about one of the morons who waited till after 9 and wanted to park. I parked my car (ok, the rental car, not mine) at the side of the house, figuring that no one else would park there. Jason parked his truck on the other side of the driveway against the fence, so there were 2 parking spots in our driveway. Jason left for maybe 5 minutes, and within that time someone else parked against our fence. Jerks. So Jason had to park in the driveway. That leaves one spot, just in case our friends decided to come with their kids - a close parking spot and don't have to walk too far. Soooooo, I went out shortly after 9 to find that not only had some moron parked at the side of the house, but someone else had also parked in my driveway!!! You have no idea how mad I was. I left a very nasty note on the van windshield to tell them NEVER to park on anyone's lawn again, how very rude and disrespectful that was. And the car in the driveway.... well, lets just say it wasn't going anywhere in a hurry. I got my neighbour to move her car and park across the end of our driveway to block it in and I called the cops. So moron in the van showed up first. Very apologetic, tons of kids. No sympathy from me, but whatever. He wasn't parked in the driveway.... lucky for him.
A little while later, no cops, no moron driver. Then I see a group of teenagers walking towards our place. I watched as they turned into my driveway and were trying to figure out how to get around Connie's car. Hahahahaha!! Yep, I am an evil beotch :) So yes, I freaked on them. I asked them what made them think they could just park in my driveway without asking first. These kids.... they had been drinking, and were just being idiots. 4 guys and 1 girl. Our driveway is at the back of our house, so I told them all to wait at their car as I had called the cops. They were calling me all sorts of names, freaking out. Kinda funny actually! I waited at the front of the house with Connie while these little idiots were trying to figure out what to do.
After a few minutes, the owner of the car - we'll call him Moron 1 - came around to talk to me. Accused me of being unreasonable and rude, telling me that its Canada Day and just to let them go. I told him to shut up & go wait at his car, that I didn't want to talk to him. Then his friend, Moron 2, came around to see what progress Moron 1 was making. He actually wasn't too bad, but still - you park in my driveway without asking, you get what you deserve. Moron 2 pulled Moron 1 away as he was making a complete ass of himself. I guess #1 even tried to punch #2, but I missed that part, unfortunately. A little bit later we noticed that Moron 1 was peeking around the side of the house at us, thinking we couldn't see him. Seriously buddy, you are a dumbass. Anyways, Moron 2 came back a minute later and said that they really just wanted to go home and could we move the car. Ummmmmmmm, nope. He told me that I was being unreasonable and rude. Then he tried to tell me that the girl with them had summer school in the morning and it was my fault that I was keeping her up and she might not be able to get up in the morning. Its already 11pm and I'm already mad - so I not so nicely told him to tell her to suck it up. I also had to get up in the morning, put in a full day at work and deal with 2 kids as well. No sympathy for someone spending 3-4 hours in summer school, should have listened in school then you wouldn't have to go to summer school.
After 2 more calls to the cops, they finally showed up. All the other traffic was long gone, except for the car full of Morons. I explained what was going on to the cops, then they went to see the morons. Moron 1 said that he wasn't driving (bullcrap buddy, you were in the drivers seat when I first came around), and had given the keys to another Moron, Moron #3. They were telling the cop how I was being awful, mean, etc., and that they just wanted to go home. The cop agreed with me and went back to the cruiser to write up the ticket. After a minute, Moron 1 went up to her & leaned on her door. I was only a few feet away, so I heard everything. Moron 1 was telling the cop that he wanted my information. What a stupid dumbass he was! The cop asked why, he said so that he could do a follow-up. She said no, he didn't need any of my information and there was to be no follow-up from him whatsoever. He started giving her attitude, she opened up her door pushing him away and threatened to arrest him for the attitude! She already knew about the way they had been talking to me, so she said that she could arrest him if I said that he was harrasing me. Oh, I so wanted to see him arrested!!! But, I just wanted the night over & done with. Moron 1 took the ticket (a pathetic $30, but still, maybe it will teach him a lesson), I told him to use his brain next time and to NEVER come near my driveway again. Connie moved her car, they left and I thanked the cops for their help.
I really wish that the cops had shown up earlier to see what we have to put up with every year. Next year we will be putting up no parking signs, or nail strips, whichever we feel like :) I honestly can't believe peoples stupidity.
As for my car, its not being written off!!! So excited. When I got the estimate for the work needed, the shop said that it was classed as a "Total Loss". The way they explained it was that the $2700 it would cost to fix the car was almost as much as the car is worth. Its a 1997, but its still a great car! They said that the only thing going for me was the mileage - it only has 103,000 km on it. So an appraiser came out and gave the car a good look over. He said that for sake of a few hundred dollars between fixing or writing it off, he had to get it fixed. He said its in great shape and still has lots of life in it, it wouldn't be right to write it off for a bit of damage on the side. So my car is in the shop right now being fixed. I miss it! And I hate the rental that I have - a Pontiac G5 and I feel like I'm driving the grown up version of a kids cozy coupe! Its really that bad. But its only for a few more days, I hope!
As for how I'm feeling, still sore. Its now affecting both side of my neck and I'm getting headaches. Not good. But trying to get back into the doctor is practically impossible. If I can't get in tomorrow, I'm going to the walk-in clinic. I also still have my cold (3 weeks now) and haven't been able to talk for the last 2-3 days. Needless to say, everyone is thrilled!
I've written a lot tonight. Guess its because I can't talk!!! Oh well, I hope you have enjoyed my little Canada Day Moron story - it makes me smile :)
