Not much to talk about tonight. The circus is in town and it looks like we'll be going on Sunday. Should be good.... I just don't know what to expect. Jason went out on Wednesday night to get some nighttime shots of the bigtop, as it had just been set up. As he was taking the pictures, someone came up to him and asked him what he was doing. Jason explained what he does and why he does it, and the guy asked if he wouldn't prefer to take shots at the show. When Jason said that we weren't planning on going to the show, the guy told Jason to bring the family and show up at the ticket booth and we'd be his guests for day! I'm excited, but a little apprehensive... what if he makes us part of the show?!? "Here's the clowns" or "Weirdest family on earth display"! You just never know. So once again, I should have more pictures to post next week.
Chris is really starting to come along with his words. This morning he woke up really early, so I brought him into bed with me hoping that he would fall back asleep. He put my hand on his head and said "rub my hair mom". Impressed! So of course, I did it. Then he moved my hand and said "rub my arm mom". Wow! Again, I did it. I thought that he had fallen asleep after a minute of this so I stopped. Wrong! He rolled over and said "rub my back mom"! I tell you - he was pushing his luck, because I was tired too!!! I rubbed his back for a minute then I stopped. He rolled over and looked at me, put his little leg up in the air and said "rub my feet mom"!!! Needless to say, I woke right up and told him nope, he could rub his own feet! What a kid, I tell ya, crazy :)
Joey will be finished school next week. Report cards should be home soon and I can't wait! I know he did well and that he's going on to Grade 2 in September, but I just can't wait to see what kind of grades he got! He had track & field days last week and he apparently did really well. He was proud of himself for kicking a soccer ball with his sandals on! He didn't think that he could do it, I guess! Monday is his last school trip for the year and they are headed to the African Lion Safari. I love that place, and Joey does as well!!! Can't wait to go in August, right Auntie Laney?!
I went to the library last night with Joey and we got a book on origami. Its a lot harder than I thought it would be! Hopefully Joey will figure it out... he's pretty smart! Then he can teach me!
We're heading out now, the kids have too much energy and I need fresh air. Have a good weekend. Bye!!!

Potty training weekend. Chris will go pee if you tell him to, but if he's busy there's no way he's stopping to go pee. He's figured out what underwear is really for....
Turns out that you put your sippy cup in your underwear so that your hands are free to play. Smart kid.
And here's my moonflower that only blooms once, at night, then doesn't bloom again. It looks like a weed but its really a flower. That's why I leave all the weeds in my garden, just in case they're moonflowers. That's my excuse anyways. I know the picture sucks, but the way I feel I'm lucky that I remembered to go out and see it at all. Jason got much better pictures of it so you'll see it on his site at some point.

Has it been easy? No. But its nice to be able to say that I married my best friend, that Jason is still my best friend, and that I'm looking forward to many more years with him. We may not be exactly where we thought we would be after 10 years, but I think we're doing pretty good. The only thing missing is the white picket fence... not that I'd want it because its just one more thing to take care of and paint every year!
I used to think that I could change Jason, make him a "perfect husband". But over the last ten years I've come to realize that there are no perfect men on earth and that they are truly all alike - I just tell myself that I have the best one out there!!!
We were given two pieces of advice when we got married. The first was from our friend Matt, who told us that "marriage is grand. Divorce is ten grand"! Good advice! We're saving our money for better things :) The second piece of advice was for me from one of the real estate agents that I worked with at the time. He told me not to get too attached to Jason as your first marriage is always a practice run for the real thing! The first time you get married is because you "love each other sooooo much"! He said that next time I should marry for money because love gets you nowhere :)
(BTW: I decided a long time ago that the next time I get married will be in Vegas. I'm gonna get married by Elvis, walk up the aisle to Suspicious Minds and leave the chuch while Highway to Hell plays. Oh yeah, I've got it all planned out!)
By and far, the very best thing that has happened over the last 10 years would be our kids. I can't imagine what life would be like without them. I can't even remember what life was like before them!!! It seems so long ago, but I wouldn't change a thing.
We were married so long ago that we don't even have any digital pictures. I have one picture that my friend Kelly took that I can share with you. I know its tiny, but I don't have a scanner to show off better pictures.
So that's it. Happy 1oth anniversary Jason - I love you and I'm looking forward to the next 10 years with you. I know you are too.... because I told you that you have to :)

Did you see it? I found this on the CNN website. Here's the story that went with it...
"A road crew in Stockton doing repairs at Royal Oaks Drive wants you to "SOTP." After putting a stop sign in, the crew came back to the road by Dentoni Park to paint the stop sign on the pavement when they misspelled the word "stop," a Stockton resident said. The misspelling was corrected on Wednesday, city officials said. "
That's from KCRA.com in Sacramento. Don't believe it... think its a fake picture.... here's the link for the actual story!!! http://www.kcra.com/news/16578641/detail.html#
Crazy stuff, I tell ya, crazy stuff :)

I know from experience that most accidents happen close to home. I have been in 2 accidents within blocks from my house - rear-ended by a drunk at the stop lights at Eagle Street (at noon, and she was already drunk!), and rear-ended by a moron on a cell phone who didn't see my turn signal on and decided to ram into the back of me. I can see from my living room window where that accident happened. And there's lots of accidents at that corner all the time... what does that say about the people living around here!
Anyways, what else has been going on that I can share with you.....
We went to a wonderful wedding on the weekend. Our friends Steve & Donna were married on Saturday, and it was an incredible day! Donna looked beautiful and the weather co-operated (a little too hot & humid, but nice & sunny!). We made some new friends this weekend at the wedding, and I'm looking forward to getting to know them better. They have the cutest little 4 year old boy, AJ, who plays so well with Joey. I think its going to be a great summer :)
Here's some pictures that I took on Saturday... I think I did a pretty good job with the pictures! And yes, that guy in the kilt in the wedding party shot really is Jason! And check out the ride for the day!!!!!!
We didn't realize until the next day, when we were going through all the pictures, that we didn't get any nice pictures of the two of us together. The last picture was a shot that Jason took of us at the reception at the Bruce Restaurant. The one time that we both get dressed up and look nice and we forget to get a picture... go figure :)
Work is busy, busy, busy. I think its going to be the busiest year yet for me. I'm looking forward to it, but at the same time I'm worried that its going to be too much. With 10 offices and over 400 agents, payroll is bound to be a job for more than one person. I think that this might be the year that it happens.
Jason is still laid off, but we're hoping that he can somehow get into something with his photography. He has a product job lined up for September, and he's really excited about it. He's great with a camera and I know that he'll do well with it, but its slow in coming in. One day... one day. Its just hard to be patient.
Chris is putting together more words now. Last night I was bitten on the ankle by a mosquito (I hate those things) and he said "skito bite my mom", then "skito bad". It was cute. He kept talking about it this morning and trying to kiss it better :) He's also doing awesome with the potty. I took his diaper off when I got home tonight and he went to the potty every time that he had to pee - so proud of him! Won't be long till he's fully potty trained.... I hope!
Joey is still quite a little character. I think he's been around Steve too much. The boys were in the bath one night last week and I gave them the roll-on soap to play with. Joey asked me to turn around while he painted it on himself and Chris.... then he told me to turn around. When I turned to them, Joey started saying "Oh, I've been shot"! and Chris was pointing at his arm and saying "ow, booboo, booboo"! So I decided to play along and said "oh no, what happened to my boys?!". I guess this isn't exactly what Joey wanted to hear, because he stood up straight and looked right at me, waved his little arms in front of him and said "cut, cut"!!! A minute later he had put on more soap, I knew what to say, and he said "roll it"! A director in the making, I tell ya!
What else, what else??? I can't think straight right now. It's been a long day. Here it is, 11:40pm, and I'm still sitting at the computer. I brought work home with me tonight and finished it not too long ago, then decided to write for a bit. I'm tired, but haven't been sleeping well lately. I'm hoping that by staying up later tonight that I'll fall asleep and stay asleep once I go to bed. Yeah, well, I can always hope, right?! Good night!
