Today has been a hard day. I have some awful news, news that I knew was coming, but it still hurts anyways. My kitty, Boots, died this afternoon. It was peaceful, and she was calm and relaxed. Its just hard to imagine life without her.

Boots was an old cat. She was probably about 15 years old, and she had been with me for the last 13 of those years. I got Boots the same summer that I met Jason, so its been forever. She may have been miserable to some people over the last 13 years, me included, but she was still a wonderful kitty. I'll miss her.

Getting hard to type through the tears. R.I.P pretty kitty kit-kat Boots, we love you and we'll miss you.

This week has been crazy. I know that we're usually always busy, but this week for me has been different. Jason has been on afternoons, so I've had to do the parenting by myself at night. Even though its been hectic, I think I enjoy it :)

I've been leaving work at 3 every day this week. I've found time to fit in a visit to the dentist for Joey (no cavities!), library time, an emergency Walmart excursion for diapers, sorting and organizing the toys(... again), and I've done it all on my own. I'm proud of myself for that! The kids have been great, they even cleaned up their toys all on their own tonight, and we've had fun. I've really enjoyed the extra time with the kids. I kind of wish that I could do this every day, but I know I won't be happy when I see the big chunk missing from my paycheque next week.

Chris is starting to talk more, finally. He woke up around 5am yesterday (and again today) and I just brought him in to sleep in my bed. At first he wanted to watch tv, pointing to the tv and saying "on, on". I told him no, that it was still nighttime and time to sleep. Then he started saying "e,e,e,e". I had no idea what he was saying, so I asked him to use his big boy words. Again, he said "e,e,e,e". I said again that I didn't know what he meant. Then he grabbed my cheeks in his chubby little hands, got right in my face, and said "num nums"! I guess he was saying "eat, eat" and I just didn't realize it! Couldn't help but laugh - he uses big boy words and I can't understand him, he uses "num nums" and I completely understand! Go figure.

Good news today - I won on Dave fm :) This time it was an oil change and a copy of the Mr. Woodcock dvd. Joey & I are going to pick it up tomorrow afternoon. That's our outing for the day, and Joey's excited about going to the radio station! He's been before, but for some reason he enjoys it there. I just enjoy the time that I get to spend one on one with him before we pick Chris up from daycare!

For once I have no hamster news. We're still on Jessie 2, so we're hoping that this one will last for a while. Joey still doesn't know that this is the 2nd Jessie, even though its completely different from the last one! Its much bigger, and not as active as the last one.... all this one wants to do is sleep and look around at everyone. It tries to climb the bars of the cage and then just gives up! Kinda comical really, but cute.

The last post caused a little bit of... um... an issue. I just want to say that everything is ok, I'm in a better mood, and I still invite everyone to comment whenever and however they want, positive or negative. I don't delete comments, unless they are just stupid/gross/completely rude. I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I love that the comments make people discuss things. So keep the comments coming people!

What else to tell??? Can't think of anything else right now. Besides, I still have to get the dishwasher loaded and finish the laundry before Celebrity Apprentice (Go Gene Simmons!)! I'm a busy mommy lately! Good night :)

Tonight I'm annoyed. Annoyed that the kids were soooo hyper tonight. Annoyed that Chris is crying right now just because he went to bed. Annoyed that the freezing cold temperatures have frozen the pipes in the bathroom. Annoyed at the cat who is rubbing up against my leg right now. Grrrrrr.

Anyways, I can't wait until everything goes back to normal and everyone can get back into a routine and back to everyday life. Christmas holidays are great and all, but the kids need to get back to what they are used to. Joey has had nothing but attitude tonight, and his room is a complete wreck. He's already been told that he's not allowed to have friends over until he cleans it all up. Seems like too much work for him, but I've told him he HAS to do it, or else I get rid of everything that isn't put away properly. He has to learn somehow.

School starts back up on Monday. Can't wait. Maybe getting back into the school day/homework/playtime routine is just what Joey needs. Chris isn't back at daycare until Jason is back to work, so hopefully that will be really soon. He's not napping through the day, which makes him kinda cranky at night. Oh the joys of being parents.

Guess thats enough complaining tonight. Maybe tomorrow I'll be in a better mood.

!!!HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I can't believe how fast 2007 has gone by. I've now been back at work for a year, my kids are 6 and 2, been married for 10 years this year.... oh how time flies :)

How did you spend your new years eve??? We have always had plans for new years since as far back as I can remember - whether it was going out to a party or having people over here, we always had some sort of plan. This year, we didn't plan anything at all. We stayed home, watched The Kingdom (awesome movie!) and I was asleep around 11:30. Awesome night! And the boys slept till almost 9 this morning, so they got lots of rest and are happy right now!!! (Although Chris did wake up around 5 this morning and cried for a half hour - nothing that a mommy hug and kiss can't fix!).

We woke up to lots of snow again! Jason has gone out to get some pictures, so there will be some on his site later. It's just so pretty right now, looks so perfect.... lets hope that its a sign of how this year will be! Perfect & pretty... I can handle that! Maybe throw in a lottery win and I'd be the happiest person on this earth!!!

Ok, gotta go now, but wanted to wish everyone a very happy new year before everything gets crazy around here! Bye!

Slideshow!

Enjoy the pictures everyone :)
