Its getting cold! I'm almost ready to turn on the heat, but that means that I'm admitting that summer is really over and I don't want to! But, I don't want to freeze our butts off, so soon I will turn on the heat, just not today :)
Our house isn't insulated at all, so when its cold, its REALLY cold in here. There were days last winter when we had our heat cranked all the way up and it was still freezing. So this past weekend we had someone from Retrofoam come in to explain how we can insulate this place. The exterior of our house has pebble-like stuff under the siding, so they can't do it from the outside. To do it inside means putting holes all over the walls that need to be done.... then redecorating to cover the holes. We're really debating on whether or not to do it because we don't want to freeze again this winter, but I don't want to redecorate the WHOLE house! Apparently there are governments grants that you can get if you do certain things to your home to make it more energy efficient, and insulating your home is one of them. If we do it, we qualify for up to $3000 back. The Retrofoam quote was $3400, so its only going to cost us $400. I think in the long run that its worth it, but we have to pay $300 to enter the government program first! Seems kinda crazy, but I think worth it in the long run. Something for us to think about and save up for :)
Seems scary to think about, but Joey is already planning his Christmas list! Doesn't help that I gave him the toys-r-us flyer this weekend and told him to circle the stuff that he likes :) But I'd rather be prepared this year and get stuff that the boys want, instead of the things that I see at the last minute just to fill up space under the tree. I've already started my shopping - and that's quite an achievement for me!!! But Joey is at an awkward age where I just don't know what to get him. He wants a Nintendo DS (his own, not my pink one!), and a bunch of little things. Chris is happy with pretty much anything! But Christmas shopping is definetly on my soon-to-do list! Yay!!!
Big news at work this week - we aquired 2 new offices in Orangeville and Shelburne today, which puts us up to 12 offices and almost 500 agents! I think we may be the largest Remax office in Canada now, but its not official... still trying to figure out the numbers. So excited :)
What else has been happening lately??? I just can't think right now. This week so far has been a blur, but tomorrow is Thursday and the workweek is almost over :)
So I'm gonna go and watch Cities of the Underworld (great show!) then the season premier of Private Practice. WOOHOO - fall tv is back!!!!
