Today was a busy day! Good day, but non-stop :) Work was busy - considering the market is supposed to be slowing down, I'm not. Maybe its just the November month-end closings coming in now, but this week has been busy so far. And that's a good thing!
I had to leave work early today for Christophers speech therapy. He's doing well, and we're learning tips & tricks to help him with his speech. He's saying more words now, and will put the end sounds on words if you prompt him (ant instead of an, eat instead of ea). We're applying for him to be put into a specialized kindergarten program, one run through Kidsability where he'll continue getting therapy as well as the regular learning offered at a "regular" school. Chris is still WAY too young to go to school, so this would be awesome for him. We'll find out in March if he's been accepted. Lots of people apply (so far over 90) and there's only 16 spots available. Wish us luck :)
And Joey. My goodness, I'm so very proud of him!!!!!!! Not only was his report card wonderful but tonight we had an awesome meeting with his teacher, Mrs. R. She told us that Joey is doing wonderfully, getting along with everyone, and that he's reading at an end of Grade 3 level! Considering he had such a hard time reading last year, that's quite an achievement for him. She also said that his writing has improved so much in just the last week or so, since his report card came out. I figure his writing will be like his reading - one day it will just click with him and it will all make sense. He'll realize that all the letters mean something, and that grammar, punctuation and spelling make all the difference. He's doing SO WELL!!! Way to go Joey!!!
She was showing us a letter that he wrote to Santa. We got to see his working copy, and his presentable copy is on the wall outside his classroom. We had to giggle when we looked at the spelling on his working copy... he asked for a "fuckee"!!! Its actually called a Funkey (something like a webkin I guess), but this is how he sounded it out! Quite entertaining :) Oh, the things kids write (and say, and do!)
It was also the Royal Doulton open house tonight. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it, considering the interview tonight, but I did! And Auntie Laney would be mad - the beautiful candle holder she bought was tonights thank you gift! So I now have the matching one... I'll put a nice candle in it and think of you every time I light it :)
Saturday is Joey's birthday party. We confirmed everything with the theatre last night, so there's no backing out now! Joey's excited. It's his first birthday party - 7 years old and its his first party, how sad is that? Its so hard to have a birthday party when your birthday is on December 20th, so we're doing it really early. I'm surprised with the turn out - we now have 9 kids coming! I hope I can make it through the afternoon.... all those boys hopped up on pizza, pop and birthday cake, then sitting through a movie with popcorn & candy..... what have I gotten myself into?!?! I'll be sure to take lots of pictures (as usual!) and post some on here for you all to see. Still can't believe my baby's going to be 7!
Ok, I'm getting tired and kinda cold. Guess I should wait until I'm going to bed before turning down the heat! Good night!

Mel....guess what i looked out at the weekend my candle holders to put the christmas candles in so that it would really nice and not the little cheap ones that look bad.So what did you buy!!!!! you would not go there and leave empty handed
Believe it or not - I did leave empty handed :( With 3 birthdays (Taylor as well as my own kids), Christmas and a birthday party tomorrow, I just couldn't afford to get anything for me. Oh well, that's ok... I'm sure they'll have more invite only nights!!!
