I thought yesterday was Wednesday... I woke up this morning thinking it was Thursday.... I'm kinda disappointed that its really only Wednesday today :( Duh!

So this past weekend was Joey's reconciliation, first confession. He was nervous and told me on Sunday morning that he didn't want to go. Telling me the morning of the day that its happening is a little to late to quit, so I told him that he had to go. We got him all dressed up in his Sunday best and off we went to church. It was supposed to be uneventful.....

The first thing that happened was when the kids were singing "I Will Follow the Good Shepherd". Joey was in the front row right at the end. He left so much space between him & the little girl beside him that I kept on motioning for him to move and he just kept ignoring me! He looked terrified, and I couldn't help but giggle! When the song was over and he came back to sit with us he told me that the space beside him was for his friend D-J, who didn't show up. I just thought that he didn't want to stand beside a girl... they have cooties, you know!

Next thing was the funniest, and I so wish that we had a video camera for this one. Joey went up to the altar and confessed his many sins (thought it would take 10 hours, he was up there less than a minute!), then came back down and presented a pretty red carnation to us. Then it was off to the side to do his penance. There is a little raised altar at the side with steps that he was to kneel on with us kneeling at either side of him. Instead of kneeling down, Joey lay right down on the floor - he looked like a little sniper lying there on his belly with his legs right out behind him and his little elbows on the steps, praying! There was a little old man sitting at the side and he just laughed - and said "thats what I call lying down on the job"! I was sure that everyone heard, and Jason & I were both trying not to laugh but giggling so much that we couldn't kneel beside him! Once Joey was done, we got our coats and left... turns out that no one noticed what had happened except for the little old man and us! Only my kid, I tell you, only mine :) He has to be different all the time!

That's your funny for today! Gotta go - I'm at work!
